Democratic lawmakers Condemn Trump After He States They Should Face Execution

Lawmakers from the Democratic party demonstrated outrage after former President Donald Trump alleged a group of Democratic congress members of being "betrayers" and stated they should be taken into custody and punished "through capital punishment" following their release of a disputed video.

The Recording That Triggered the Debate

The clip, published on earlier this week, includes six Democratic lawmakers who formerly acted in defense or defense roles.

"Like us, you all took an oath to safeguard and support this constitution," the representatives declared in the short video. "Currently, the dangers to our constitution don't only come from overseas, but from right here at home. Our regulations are explicit, you can decline illegal orders, you can refuse unlawful commands, you have to reject unlawful commands. No one has to carry out directives that contravene the legal system or our founding principles."

Trump's Angry Response

The clip seemed to trigger a heated reaction from the ex-president.

On later in the week, Trump wrote on his preferred platform: "This constitutes SEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL. Each one of these betrayers to our United States should be ARRESTED AND PUT ON TRIAL."

In a separate publication, he declared: "This represents really concerning, and Harmful to our Nation. Their statements cannot be allowed to persist. SEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR FROM TRAITORS!!! LOCK THEM UP???"

In a additional post, he added: "SEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR, subject to punishment by DEATH!" He also reposted a statement that stated: "HANG THEM GEORGE WASHINGTON WOULD !!"

Party Representatives Answer

Following Trump's remarks on Thursday, Democratic leadership published a joint statement condemning the statements.

"Partisan aggression has no place in the United States," they stated. "Representatives who participated in the video all acted our United States with tremendous national pride and honor. We strongly censure Donald Trump's disgusting and risky threats of violence against congressional representatives, and urge GOP representatives to vigorously do the same."

The Democratic leaders also said that they had been in contact with law enforcement "to ensure the protection of these members and their families."

"Donald Trump must without delay delete these radical online messages and retract his violent rhetoric before he causes harm," the announcement added.

Representatives' Strong Response

The officials who participated in the video also issued a declaration.

"We identify as former service members and national security professionals who love this nation and took an vow to safeguard and uphold the national charter of the United States," they declared. "Our pledge lasts a lifetime, and we plan to maintain it. No intimidation, pressure, or call for violence will deter us from that sacred duty."

"The most revealing aspect is that the ex-president considers it punishable by execution for us to restate the law," they added. "Our service members should understand that we have their backs as they fulfill their vow to the constitution and responsibility to obey only proper directives. It is not only the right thing to do, but also our duty."

They continued: "All citizens must come together and censure the president's calls for our execution and political violence. This is a moment for moral clarity."

Additional Political Comments

The Democratic Senate minority leader also condemned Trump's comments and shared on digital platforms: "Let's be crystal clear: the former president is demanding the execution of government members."

He added: "This is an clear THREAT. Every Senator, each house member, all citizens – regardless of party – should condemn this right away and without qualification."

The Conservative official defended Trump's assertion that the Democrats had been involved in "treason", describing the video as "wildly inappropriate", stating: "This constitutes very risky, you have leading members of the legislature instructing military personnel to ignore directives, I think that's historic in the nation's past."

The Conservative representative also according to sources told the press that in what he read of Trump's publications, Trump was "defining the offense of treason" but that "lawyers have to analyze the terminology and determine all that."

Administration Reaction

During a White House press conference on Thursday afternoon, when questioned by a media member, "Is the president want to execute members of Congress?", the administration spokesperson answered: "No."

"We should understand about what the president is responding to," the official said. "We see current representatives of the federal government who conspired to organize a digital communication to personnel of the US military, to active duty service members urging them to disobey the president's legal commands."

She said: "The sanctity of our military depends on the chain of command, and if that system is broken, it can result in fatalities, it can result in chaos, and that's what these congressional representatives ... are fundamentally encouraging."
