Netflix Selects Spot-On Actor for Mr. 2 in One Piece Third Season
The Secret Organization is geared up to make a major impact in the next installment of Netflix’s show of One Piece, though the real showdown won’t unfold until the third season, and a beloved, fan-favorite member has recently been selected.
Netflix announced this week that Cole Escola is now part of the One Piece upcoming season’s lineup and will embody Bon Clay. Bon Clay has the ability to morph into an exact copy of anyone they’ve laid a hand on with their dominant hand. The actor, who is identifies as non-binary and prefers they/them pronouns, will play a interpretation of that role reinterpreted as gender non-binary, as opposed to as a drag artist, in the live-action series, unlike the original manga and cartoon version.
This performer joins multiple recently announced actors set to bring Baroque Works to reality, including chief the main antagonist, brought to life by Joe Manganiello, Sophia Anne Caruso as another operative, and an accomplished actor, who also joins the cast as the monarch of Alabasta.
Even though this character is a key figure of the organization, the character won’t make their debut One Piece season 3. Given the next season likely to portray the Little Garden arc, this represents a notable change in the timing of the character’s debut, one that could indicate additional alterations to the story’s structure.
The actor’s combination of sharp comedic timing and emotional depth makes them a perfect fit for the part.
