The British government is ready to advance with utilizing the total value of frozen Russia's funds to bolster Ukraine's military campaign, Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has stated.

In a collective announcement, the officials of the UK, the French Republic, and Germany stated that this unified step would increase strain on Moscow's head Vladimir Putin and urge Russia to engage in negotiations.

They further noted that the decision would be executed in tight collaboration with the America.

UK sanctions have immobilized more than £25bn of Russia's funds since the Russian government initiated its comprehensive attack against Ukraine in 2022. However, until now, money allocated to Ukraine using Russian holdings had only been taken from profits and interest generated on them.

Sir Keir informed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that the Britain, the French Republic, and the Federal Republic of Germany were in agreement in their goal to advance efforts toward employing the total worth of the immobilized Moscow's national holdings to halt hostilities.

He noted that more sanctions in the coming days and weeks would apply more pressure on the Russian government.

This announcement comes after European officials met in the Danish capital last week to debate utilizing seized Russia's assets for a 140-billion-euro financial aid to Ukraine.

Last month, President Donald Trump urged G7 allies to confiscate or utilize frozen Russia's holdings, based on reports.

The total of seized Russia's holdings in the EU is assessed to be almost €211bn.

Moscow launched large-scale missile and drone strikes across the Ukrainian territory on Friday, resulting in power cuts in many areas of Kyiv, Kyiv, and multiple additional areas.
